Biosphere 2

Although the plants inside the Biosphere produced oxygen through photosynthesis, the people in the first mission lived in dangerously low levels of oxygen. El Nino produced lots of cloud cover, causing the plants in Biosphere 2 to reduce their oxygen production and simulate an environment that was 4,000 feet above sea level.
